After church, I took a rainy Sunday afternoon to drive around the local area shooting places I've always wanted to photograph. The old Central Roller Mill is one of those places. Although I didn't realize it at the time I was shooting this, the old mill is now eligible to be placed in the National Register of Historic Places.
see: www.nps.gov/history/nr/feature/places/13000454.htm
"In its heyday it produced 100 barrels of flour, 5000 lbs of corn meal, and 15 tons of mixed feed per day and had a storage capacity of 80,000 bushels of grain." see:
www.centralrollermills.com
The mill manufactured Issaqueena Flour, corn meal, and animal feeds in separate structures later tied together under one roof. (If you look closely, you'll see the old Purina Emblem on the side of the building in some of the shots.)
