Nice shot! Next time, try opening up the aperture as far as you can, probably 5.6 with this lens, you'll get a bit shallower depth of field then and the main subject will show up better :-)

Okay.... I used my standard 18-55mm lens for this. I'll try best. So for 5,6? what does that mean?

f/5.6 is the widest opening that your lens has at 55mm, that gives the shallowest depth of field. Here's an explanation of depth of field, far better than I can ever explain it.

So what you have to do is take it out of "Auto" and put it into Aperture Priority, "A", then you will be able to set the aperture value by turning the command dial and the camera will automatically give you the correct shutter speed. Well that's the theory anyway, often there may be a need to tweak the exposure, either a bit under or a bit over using the exposure compensation button, that's the one with the +/_ right behind the shutter button.
