1210 plinth Canberra 0167

1210, painted in green, was plinthed near Canberra station for decades before being restored to operational condition for the bicentenary of Australia. It hauled the first train to Canberra. It was restored to trafficable condition and then operated by the Canberra division of the Australian Railway Historical Society on enthusiast and tourist trips for some years. Then thieves stole some its brass fittings making it unusable. It is stored pending plinthing or repairing. This photo is from January 1967.
