That was a hell of work, I bet. Was that stroboscopic?

Thanks. I actually got very, very lucky: unbelievably, I took only one shot !!!
I used a flash--no strobe. The drops are from a water tap. I adjusted the flow so that I have one drop coming out. The drop split into small drops as it separated from the tap. I believe this has to do with surface tension and probably pressure (sorry I am not a physicist).

you were indeed very lucky!! People would experiment for hours on that. And yes, it has to do mainly with surface tension. Add some detergent and the drops would become smaller.
Very nice graphic effect!

..nice to have you back ... always in the limit between photography and visual arts...but this limit seems to be the field where you dare more and extend far your interest for experiment...
coherent with many of your works... the only aspect which I would like to investigate more is where exactly photography "as such" transforms into another form of expression...

Dear P.R. Thank you so much. Indeed I find the borders to be very interesting. They are dynamic and vibrant with energy because of the cross brder interaction that takes place. That is the space where the dialectic is most felt.
The question that you ask about where does photography transforms into another form of expression, is a very persistant question. It is the subject of much debate and discussion. However, I believe that there can never be just one answer or a "correct" one. I personally view photography in the most general sense. In this view I referto the origin of the word: painting with light. As with painting, in photography there can never be just one form of expression. Photography is simply a tool, a means to express ones ideas, emotions and sense of aesthetic. Consequently, it's borders are, I believe, infinitely maleable.

I also agree with you totally that I am regarding photography more and more as a tool of expression rather than a medium itself. Then I have debates with one of my purist friends why I am manipulating my pictures so much. I told that that I am trying to achieve another dimension of expression by making them look like a dream, or scary or whatever and that the picture itself is only the starting point in these cases. The friend is not really convinced. He calls it Photof***ing.... I told him that almost all techniques I use have their roots in analogue photography but this is not convincing enough to him.
