thank you all for the visit and for the comments.
Lichtbold, yes this is solarized. I did this in photoshop using the curves adjustment not a preset filter because it gives me far greater control. I am glad you like it.
Me likes too! And as always, as the eager student I am, I'm glad to know how it came through! I just figured out a little more about the Gimp so I'll try this out, I guess it is more or less the same there as in photoshop yes? I'll try it out under strict supervision off course ;-D
Thanks Ann. Yes GIMP is more or less like photoshop a bit less intuitive if you have used photoshop beforehand. I would suggest getting one the excellent tutorial books around--this would minimize the learning curve.
No matter what you do always work with layers. The solarization here was done on a copy of the original which was in a seperate layer and then blended. If you need help please let me know I'll be happy to explain things. I have GIMP too and use it sometimes.
Thanks Aref for being so helpful!!! Yes, I know you recommended a Gimp beginners, I'll check if the library have it. I never used photshop so I do find Gimp a bit difficult but I'm starting to see more of the logic in it. Layers yes, I haven't figured it out yet... Good to have you around though as my help desk :-D
