I'll send you the flower but you can keep the rain :)))) I am sorry but I don't like rain. Believe me I know how miserable it can feel when it rains all the time. Thanks for the compliment my friend.

Thank you. I love orchids and I have a few growing at home. The white Phalaenopsis is one of my favorites. It exudes elegance.

I have a question for you that I couldn't find the answer. As you belong to an Orchid Association, do you know the name of an orchid that grows I believe in Brazil and bears a flower once every 100 years to the dot for an opens up only for a few minutes? Some years ago, one of my friends came with a planeload of watchers to be present in the middle of the jungle for those minutes. May be it was about 20 yrs ago! I will appreciate it very much if you find that out for me.

Hello Evelyne. I am sorry but I never heard of such an orchid. I have searched and continue to do so but I am afraid that such an Orchid does not exist. However, the Agave Americana also called maguey in Mexico is a cactus which is known as the "Century Plant" because it blooms once every hundred years and the blooms last for a day. It has been reported that the blooming may occur sooner. I hope this helps. I will continue to search and if I come across something I will let you know.

It is so nice of you Aref. I think that orchid may be the Agave Americana! I should have recorded the name somewhere when the friend sent me a postcard to say that she was there??? to watch an orchid blooms in the middle of the night...and no pictures taken, no flash...Thank you again. I am so sorry you decided to stop going on IP. I still wish we can keep tracks of each other.
