'King of the Castle' (TSC - Evoke Mood)

'King of the Castle' (TSC - Evoke Mood)
What stories and adventures these walls could tell,
Times long ago when iron clad knights in battle fell,
The High King of the castle sitting majestic and proud,
His bold fortress on the hill covered by a misty shroud!

The Queen parades the Great Hall in her elegant gown,
Attentative ladies in waiting adjusting her crown,
A one eyed black raven perches high on the tallest tower,
And squawks in to the darkness as the soldiers they cower!

I look at these old ruins and can't help but contemplate,
The people that lived and died here - what was their fate?
I am in awe of these ancient buildings with such rich history,
Imposing and inspiring - it brings out true emotion in me!

Goffy.

This is an old image, given a bit of 'mood' treatment using a new simple photograph of clouds and layering this on using photoshop. With quite a bit of blurring and tweaking my aim was to create a subtle mist effect to add a little atmosphere to the shot!

The poem is my attempt to describe how buildings like this stimulate my imagination and emotion!
I can only absorb and wonder - they never fail to amaze me! :-)

o0o I agree with you ... Baddesley Clinton quite close by to me, a manor house
with a moat around ... it has the same kind of magic appeal, always wonderful
light, changes with the seasons ... always different and stirs the imagination as
indeed does yours here ... I always think of "The Lady of Shalott" because of the
moat ... ;-) and now I wonder about yours ... and like your poem also oOo

She leaves her tower, finds a boat upon which she writes her name, and floats down the river to Camelot. She dies before arriving at the palace. Among the knights and ladies who see her is Lancelot, who thinks she is lovely.

"Who is this? And what is here?"
And in the lighted palace near
Died the sound of royal cheer;
And they crossed themselves for fear,
All the Knights at Camelot;
But Lancelot mused a little space
He said, "She has a lovely face;
God in his mercy lend her grace,
The Lady of Shalott."

Lovely representation of how these very old historic buildings evoke your sense of wonder and amazement Goffy. The blending of the clouds with the image to create the mysterious wonder of the tales untold ... wonderful. :) Whenever I find myself surrounded by history I enter a different mindset ... so many questions and not enough answers. Instant fave

I'm a bit late, but what an enjoyable entry this is Goffy. Lovely poetry and such beautiful processing that looks like it was there originally. It made me think of this song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6Ofasda7fw
