La Giraffa a San Francesco 

Postcard from the end of 19th Century: the Imperiale Contrada della Giraffa (Giraffe District) in piazza San Francesco. Although, as of the time of the picture, the Giraffa wasn't "Imperiale" yet, as the title has been given in 1936 for its victory of the "Palio dell'Impero" dedicated to the conquer of the "colonies" and the foundation of the "Italian Empire" in Eastern Africa.
