AVP is what? Annual Volleyball....? And Hermosa Beach is where...LA?
Interesting document of a festive occasion where bikes seem to be very participant and engaged
AVP stands for Association of Volleyball Professionals. Hermosa Beach is one of several beach cities that borders the city of Los Angeles approximately 10 miles from the civic center. Hermosa Beach is famous for it's large boardwalk that faces the Pacific Ocean. You can rent bikes to ride along the boardwalk for several miles. Once a year they hold a open volleyball tournament usually at the beginning of June. Many famous sports personalities own homes there and and the tournament brings many fans out for this 3 day event.
It is a great opportunity for photographers to get some great candid street activity. Many of the people I photographed stopped and posed for some shots for me.
