5/23/11: Meadview area
We have land here. Meadview is about 80 miles north of Kingman. it's near the Colorado River where it comes out of the Grand Canyon into Lake Mead. That's the rear end of the lower Grand Canyon in the distance.

"Meadview is an unincorporated community in Mohave County, Arizona, United States, located near Lake Mead. Despite its name, the townsite does not overlook the lake; a ridge to the west of town separates it from the lake. It has roughly 1500 residents. It was founded in the 1960s as a retirement community" Wikipedia.

Meadview is isolated because there is no river crossing over to Lake Mead or Las Vegas. Though it is only a few miles from Las Vegas as the crow flies, it is a several hour drive from the village to Las Vegas.
Meadview is next to a Joshua Tree forrest, on federal land. It is also close to the Hualapai Indian Reservation, with it's skywalk extending over the Grand Canyon.
