seems not everyone likes episode VII. these angry fellows couldn't believe their eyes and ears while attending a special trooper screening. maybe disney now listens and a new hope arises (no, not another copy again!) so that the force really will be awakened by the time episode VIII comes out? may the force be with us ...

I've not yet seen SW VII, but I thought that Disney couldn't do worse than George Lucas did with Episodes I, II, and III. Was I wrong?

*** DANGER: MILD SPOILERS AHEAD - READ AT YOUR OWN RISK ***

of course that depends on who you ask. opinions on e1-3 do vary also as we know. in comparison these for sure do have more originality in them.

however, i can't quite understand the rave reviews on e7. in itself the movie so far is merely o.k. but in my humble opionion they played it way too safe and targeted fanboys/girls first and foremost. more or less copying an almost 40 years old plot (again) isn't even the only thing that throws me off.

to go back and compare with the prequels: i see mostly quite good (new) stories in e1-3. what they sometimes lack is the implementation of those stories - be it questionable screenwriting, just too much (bad) cgi or not convincing acting. in e7 it's kind of the other way round: almost no new story (just a little bit) but an otherwise ok movie. though the acting part i too don't find convincing all the time.

cheers,
