A fascinating glimpse of Canadian society, and busier and more cosmopolitan than I expected. There is an aqueduct over the Kennet and Avon canal near the city of Bath, England, named 'Dundas Aqueduct' after Charles Dundas, the first chairman of the Kennet and Avon Canal Company. A coincidence, no doubt.

Dundas Street was named for Henry Dundas, 1st Viscount Melville, secretary of state for war and first lord of the Admiralty under William Pitt the younger. I haven't found any connection between Charles and Henry Dundas. As you may know, many Edinburghers want Henry's statue there removed. In Toronto many people want the street renamed. The chief issue is his role in delaying the abolition of the slave trade.

In 2016 BBC Radio, responding to Sadiq Khan's claim that London was the most diverse city in the world, did some research and declared Toronto the most diverse instead:

And Toronto is very busy. Everybody's got something to do and they want to do it right now.

Fascinating...........and somewhat compelling. A super street shot John.

Far too many people for me though.............I try and avoid big cities :-))

Thanks, Keith. I miss having a lot of people around, though, and not just as a result of the pandemic. In December 2019, after I had just moved where I am now, I kept reading about how packed the malls were with Christmas shoppers. When I went to the malls, though, they seemed empty.

Torontonians don't have time for smiling, Denis. They have to stay focussed on being busy.
