Very attractive muted colors. And though the line of posts are straight verticals and the fence a level horizontal, there is a definite lean to the right - particularly the sheepish, leaning bike rack, miniaturized monkey-bars bearing the only real curved shapes in the shot. Objects to be looked at, rather than being recorded.

Very interesting observations, Bob. You got me to notice that the vertical angle of the objects corresponds to the arc in the curb. Thanks.

Beautifully composed with the object all in the right places leading the eye and balancing the image. Like the PiP's especially the bike rack and it's shadow.

Thanks, Jean. I wish I could have got it as bright as it actually was, though -- that would have helped the effect, I think.

Well composed images, the scene certainly changes in winter.

Thanks, George. In winter yellow fire hydrants and stanchions relieve the overwhelming white and brown.

Nice light and some well defined shadows, especially the bike rack. I love the matching colours of the fire hydrant and the yellow poles.

Thanks, Keith. I think provincial safety regulations must have changed -- over the last few years yellow and lime green have become very prominent here.

I can see you are really enjoying summer in the lively suburbs.

Probably more than I would have if I'd stayed in midtown Toronto, Sarah. The public transit is far better there, so I'm moving around less, but I don't have the problems of apartment life to deal with, or the problems of high population density.

And what the hell went wrong in California? You seemed to be following the same plan we are. I usually avoid telling people to take care, and I'm sure you are taking care, so I won't tell you to, but still....

Appreciate your concern -- San Francisco is doing better than many other cities, and mask compliance here is higher, but still not optimal. I'm not worried about myself -- indeed, working for one of the country's premier academic medical centers, I have all the most up-to-date information about risk at my fingertips -- and working from home, I need not expose myself. But it's hard on our health care workers who have to bear the consequences of risky behavior, and those who are vulnerable, who got sick because of others or because of very bad decisions made, e.g. San Quentin. But don't get me started on prisons ...
