An interesting angle, great details which invite spending some time to take in. And a nice color scheme!

The Anglicans have given the world many fine churches, George.

Sorry to disappoint you John. This is 15th century - before Henry VIII decided to break with Rome and create the Church of England. Nevertheless it is one of many fine former Roman Catholic churches that Anglicans now cherish and try to maintain.
I like the way you have oriented the image to give prominence to the crowned angel giving a two-handed blessing. Some of the medieval craftsmen had lovely, almost mischievous, imaginations as well as great artistic skill.

I see I forgot to thank you for this information, Phil. It is very helpful. And yes, the splendid craftsmanship in a parish church demonstrates how the artistic culture of the day was very demanding. Soon they'll be 3D-printing replacement parts for restoration. Thanks for the information and I'll try to respond much more promptly in future.

A very belated thank you, Phil. I don't know how I missed your clarification four years ago. Of course I should have thought of the Reformation, and now I know better. I was thinking like a North American, perhaps -- there was no Reformation in Canada so it's not a topic in our history.

Should have got closer to that angel, he looks quite a character!

I agree, Steve. Never trust an "angel" with custom wings.
