Dundas rhymes with "spun glass", not "stunned us".

Striding in, striding on - both very purposefully. In fact, the tower in the No Guts No Glory sign and the striding youg lady are interestingly reflecting verticals.Nice slice of life!

Thanks, Bob. I hadn't thought much about the composition, because for once I was more interested in a possible story. So thanks for drawing my attention to the composition. You can prove your own guts and glory for a mere $225 Cdn. You get to walk outdoors around the roof of the restaurant (the big pod).

A fine street-shot ! In the middle of a jungle of advertisement !

Thanks, Ulrich. This is only part of the jungle. These days Piccadilly Circus seems staid compared to this.

Strangely odd
or oddly strange
and I don't know why this should be so except that it must be down to the skill of the photographer!

I think Andy is right! You always provide so much interest, life and color, John. Here, I especially like the man stomping by with his coffee and the imposing vertical sign. (Its message is another story...)

What looks like a random street scene but there is always food for thought in the images you make.

Interesting contrasts of those 'on a mission' and those 'at rest'. Re the NGNG, there's a similar one in Sydney and recently a few people have managed to detach themselves.....

Thanks, George. No one's broken free here, as far as I know. When the tower was building, though, one of the construction workers parachuted from 450 metres. And survived, despite having to navigate past high-tension wires. Since then the only parachuting has been by approved stuntpeople.

I get the impression that the man in the foreground is more interested in the legs of the lady in the short shorts rather than anything else!

A cracking street candid John.........as always!

John FitzGerald club has replied to Keith Burton club
Thanks, Keith. That was my impression from the shot, too.

Since the fellow in the foreground is only just entering the frame I expect the photographer's interest may have been somewhere else, too. Seriously, an attractive young woman wearing orange is always going to be the focus of the picture, especially when she is striding purposefully past a bunch of stationary people.

Also seriously, I also realized I may have been influenced by Canadian painter Michael Snow's "Walking Woman" series:
duckduckgo.com/?q=michael+snow+walking+woman&iax=images&ia=images

It was very popular in my young days.

Interesting link John...............I'd never heard of Michael Snow, but I can see what you mean about his possible influence on you.

John FitzGerald club has replied to Keith Burton club
In Snow's heyday in the 60s and 70s Canadian painters (like Harold Town, for example), were known outside Canada, but they seem to have disappeared from the memories of most people outside Canada. I believe he's still working at 89.
