Another study in rectangles. Nice how you arranged the touch of maroon on the signs to be opened out on the outside draperies, and the touch of red to be narrowed down to the even less red in the planter. And what is more amazing, to someone where I am, is that Toronto has given up its snow and has plants outside!

Thanks, Bob. I liked the red bulbs on the decorative globe, too. We had a thaw last week so the snow is gone. Those plants may well not be real.

Looking at the brickwork and if asked to guess where in the world ... I would say the UK, without a shadow of a doubt!

I see the resemblance, Andy. Could be the Kilburn High Road in London to my eyes.

I thought that plywood structure would be temporary, but it's showing no signs of moving.

Or The Edgware Road, somewhere where they are trying very hard to be stylish in a westernised kind of way but not quite achieving it! But full marks for trying, in my book!

Like Andy, I'd have thought UK for this. Interesting geometric shapes.

When I think of UK shopfronts I think of wooden ones, with no airlocks, but apart from that I think this place would fit in well in the UK.

I also initially thought UK too, but it could be in any town/city in the Western world.

I really like this John...............so much too look at and take in. I like the red curtains, which for me stand out because they are outside instead of inside.

Thanks, Keith. Those curtains have been there for a long time, too.

Definitely needs to be seen large. So many good details. I like the reflection of the tree in the window.

It's got a lovely vintage feel about it.

Thanks, Jean. This is part of a classic streetcar suburb -- a streetcar line with lots of shops and stores along it and houses behind them. This one developed between 1911 and 1930, and most of the buildings are still from that period.

A palimpsest.( Probably one of my favourite words!) It’s one of my ambitions to try and get a shot like this.
I love the way it all seems to radiate from that central semi-circular door light window.

I like the idea of a palimpsest, Steve. I have lived near this street for most of my life and have watched the continual erasures of one business and over-writing with another. Part of the street is undergoing a revival so some massive erasures have occurred, too.
