the fifth dimension is closer than you think

the fifth dimension is closer than you think
Cut-paper collage postcard created for the Kollage Kit theme: "The Fifth Dimension."

The upper background is from a Time magazine photo of an electrical storm over the Grand Canyon. The man in the dog mask is from the Archie McPhee catalog. The lower background is from a painting by Gordon Onslow Ford. The creature is a late Jurassic marine reptile called a Dakosaurus.

The colorful strip in between is from a computer model of superstrings. Superstring theory holds that our universe has many more dimensions than meet the eye—dimensions tightly curled into the folded fabric of the cosmos.

Otto Magus, Michael Sperring, Sandra and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo
