Fly-away Grass is more appropriate as the seeds ripen, for the light
panicles are soon broken by the wind and drift over the fields as the
earliest tumble-weed.

Rough bent or ticklegrass is a perennial clump grass, ........ At
first, the inflorescence is purple-green and shining, then tan. It
often breaks off and floats around like a tumbleweed.
