The Road to Town

The Road to Town
For the October Scavenge Hunt, Item #1: "Show us something which typifies your commute to work or to shopping."

I often take this route to go into the old part of Bellingham known as Fairhaven where there are shops, restaurants, a lovely waterfront park and a branch of the public library. Roads like this are typical for my area - lots of green and overarching trees, some deciduous and some evergreen. My drive to the supermarket is even quite like this for most of the way. I've given this a painterly filter to give it a bit more interest.

It's lovely to have you back posting Kathy ! :-}
Nicely done with the filter - just enough to make us look harder
What a lovely drive to the shops

Thanks, Rob. It's good to be back and yes, most of my drives get me scenery like this so I'm blessed and can't imagine living anywhere else.

Trees cut back just enough to keep them out of the power lines, verge mowed just enough to keep it off the road, road injection-patched rather than repaving...yep, that's Pacific Northwest Suburban.

"Pacific Northwest Suburban" - that's a great description! We live just outside the city limits so it's an apt one too.
