Sunday of the Paralytic - Cura Animae
ἔστιν δὲ ἐν τοῖς Ἱεροσολύμοις ἐπὶ τῇ προβατικῇ κολυμβήθρα ἡ ἐπιλεγομένη Ἑβραϊστὶ Βηθεσδά, πέντε στοὰς ἔχουσα,ἐν ταύταις κατέκειτο πλῆθος πολὺ τῶν ἀσθενούντων τυφλῶν χωλῶν ξηρῶν ἐκδεχομένων τὴν τοῦ ὕδατος κίνησιν ἄγγελος γὰρ κατὰ καιρὸν κατέβαινεν ἐν τῇ κολυμβήθρᾳ, καὶ ἐταράσσετο τὸ ὕδωρ· ὁ οὖν πρῶτος ἐμβὰς μετὰ τὴν ταραχὴν τοῦ ὕδατος ὑγιὴς ἐγίνετο ᾧ δήποτε κατείχετο νοσήματι.(Ιωαν.5:2-4)
Est autem Hierosolymis super Probatica piscina quae cognominatur hebraice Bethsaida quinque porticus habens in his iacebat multitudo magna languentium caecorum claudorum aridorum expectantium aquae motum
Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheep gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew Bethesda, having five porches.In these lay a great multitude of sick, of blind, of lame, of withered; waiting for the moving of the water.. for an angel of the Lord went down at certain seasons into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the waters stepped in was made whole, with whatsoever disease he was holden.
