Un riad (jardin en arabe) est une forme d'architecture vernaculaire traditionnelle du Maroc (maison, hôtel, restaurant, palais, etc.) à l'origine dans les médinas, centres historique des villes du Maroc. Ils s'organisent autour d'un patio / salon / salle à manger centrale, comme base d'une structure architecturale en forme de puits étagé en balcons tournés sur l’intérieur, inspirée de l'habitat arabo-andalou traditionnel, de l'héritage persan et de l'héritage romain (atrium d'habitation de la Rome antique). Ils sont généralement décorés de façon traditionnelle et harmonieuse, voire luxueuse, avec des éléments anciens d'architecture islamique et mauresque, d'artisanat marocain, d'arts de l'Islam, de figures géométriques arabes en céramique islamique et en zellige.

A riad (garden in Arabic) is a form of traditional Moroccan vernacular architecture (house, hotel, restaurant, palace, etc.) originally located in the medinas, historical centres of Moroccan cities. They are organized around a central patio - lounge - dining room, as the basis of an architectural structure in the shape of a stepped well with balconies facing the interior, inspired by traditional Arab-Andalusian housing, Persian heritage and Roman heritage (atrium of ancient Rome). They are generally decorated in a traditional and harmonious, even luxurious way, with ancient elements of Islamic and Moorish architecture, Moroccan craftsmanship, Islamic art, Arab geometric figures in Islamic ceramics and zellige.
