Thank you Andy! Here we have a problem of (automatic?) translation. The German word "Kanal" translates into English both to "channel" and "canal" - and only the context helps you to decide which one is correct. In this case, "channel" is the correct choice, of course. And I think we can agree that the sea outside of St. Mawes is the English Channel (German "Ärmelkanal"), which, according to the International Hydrographic Organization stretches between Land's End all the way to east of Dover. Hence, the German compositum "Kanalküste" means on the coast of the English Channel. I'm not quite sure what that would be called in French ;-)

In diesem schönen Ort habe ich vor Jahren eine große Zahl englischer Touristen fotografiert, die unterwegs, am Strand, natürlich im Restaurant, auf der Straße...unermüdlich am essen waren. Ist Dir das jetzt auch aufgefallen?
