Na, für dich vielleicht nicht, du kennst vermutlich schlimmeres. Aber hier ist - offensichtlich durch Erosion - ein Teil der Treppe zum Strand weggefallen - und man hat offensichtlich Sorge, dass da noch mehr passiert. Am ende geht es auch recht steil hinab - und hat wohl auch keinen zuverlässigen Halt. Tja, und dann die Haftungsfrage, wenn da jemand mit Badelatschen ...

A nice memory for you, but yes, this does happen a lot. Erosion sets in, either through many feet, or nature, and it becomes a little dangerous. Unfortunately, in todays climate of health and safety, the slightest risk to life and limb, and "You can't go there!"

Much of the fragile UK coast is in the same state, Erhard. Apparently these steps were damaged by recent extreme weather. There have been quite a few cases of dwellings slipping off the cliffs and onto beaches, especially on the east coast.
