Todays Foray into Thetford Forest a selection of Amanita Mascara. Mostly I try to leave the caps undisturbed even though at times it can be a distraction, but I prefer to view them as they are in the environment. Forays are quiet popular and it amazes me how and annoyingly so many mushrooms are damaged by yet again Human interactions.

Amelia Heath, Frans Schols, Rosalyn Hilborne, Doug Shepherd and 7 other people have particularly liked this photo

A nice selection Maurice I walked about 7 miles today and didn't find any :(( The damage may not all be caused by humans since they have become a must have accessory every where you go there are hoards of dogs running about, then you have deer, badgers, foxes, squirrels although not interested as a food source would still cause damage moving through the vegetation, and of course rooks and crows digging for grubs

A beautiful colourful selection. I notice quite a few get smashed which I don't like either. Most of the ones I find seem to get nibbled . Still haven't found many although it is now damp and overcast.

They say red for danger, and I think that's the case for fungi, but they make a great picture. Another superb collage.

Thanks for looking in Rosalyn, "Fly Agaric" traditionally once used as a Fly Killer hence your Red for Danger.

A really lovely foursome. I think some fungi are damaged by wild animals as opposed to Human beings. Something, I'm not sure what, eats the caps. could be slugs maybe? These are all in perfect condition, Maurice.
