American Tree Rat, was what we used to call them as they were Invaders that took over from the Reds.
Yes we should not encourage them but they do look so cute and it is difficult not to.
As a boy I had a pet one that lived freely in the house.

Glad we don't have them here in Denmark.

They make a great photographic subject and this shot is a super example of how to take a great photo. An immediate fave for me, Maurice. Wish this was my shot. I did take one of a squirrel in Oxford recently but I was disappointed with the result!
