Bright green patches of Crescent-cup Liverwort ( Lunularia cruciata ) growing on a disused railway cutting wall. It gets its name from the crescent shaped receptacles holding green disc like gammae. Pwllglas

Sphagnum palustre , a large and very variable species but here with a nice brown capitulum showing the hooded tips to the end of the leaves.

Sphagnum girgensohnii

What looks like a green soft cap, probaby overlying a spring. Quite an unexpected find in a pine forest. The sphagnum was a good 15cm tall, and a sample was collected. I've identified it as Sphagnum girgensohnii , however it will need to be confirmed as it's not a species that has been recorded on Anglesey before.
