[1428] Bee Moth (Aphomia sociella)
Caught two of these last night - nothing to do with Horsetail's at all, but it was the only thing I had laying around that the moth would settle on.

This is a female Bee Moth (Aphomia sociella), and the larvae feed on the comb inside bumble bee and wasp nests.

It's obviously got some mechanism that allows it safe access to lay eggs... very cool. I'm just learning about cuckoo wasps and the not-so-benign effects on the host species, so all of this is pretty fascinating stuff. Nice picture!
