Thanks! :) I was originally thinking about doing a book-related theme (building on A Novel Bookstore, The Antiquarian, and an art book on book art), but as I started looking around I noticed the top three books sitting together, and decided to build on those instead.

Cool collection! I've got a copy of the "Photographs Not Taken" ... somewhere! :-)

I spotted it at the LACMA bookshop after two days of driving through the desert, looking at all those gorgeous landscapes (and some seriously epic sunsets) but not stopping to photograph them, so the title kind of jumped out at me. ;)

I've had a lot of days like that! No photos in this book ... but a collection of recollections from well known photographers about photos they didn't take. Often ... it was situations where the scene was tragic, or they put the camera down to lend a helping hand. Sometimes ... the scene was so touching they became to much a part of it to take the photo.

The limited depth of field works well with the titles.

"The Unreal and the Real", "Photographs Not Taken" and "The Invention of Truth" sound very intriguing. Very nice Dvora.

Thanks! :) The Unreal and the Real is a two-volume collection of Ursula K. LeGuin's short stories; Photographs Not Taken is a collection of essays by photographers on the subject; The Invention of Truth" tells the story of one of the 300 womam summoned to court to create the Bayeux Tapestry, and a 19th century art critic visiting her hometown 800-ish years later. All good reads, all very different. :D
