TSC: textures

I started with the Coral Catshark swimming in the shark- and ray-petting tank (yes, I still have all my fingers ;) ) and the outside wall of the aquarium (I got there twenty minutes before the event started, and used the time to collect potential textures for the challenge ;) ). The koi are a bit of street art I found in New Orleans when I drove through last month on my way to Houston; I finished it off with a night shot of flowering trees reflecting on the pond in the Public Garden back in the spring.

(original images are in the notes)

[ETA: the koi were done by Jeremy Novy, and they can be found all over New Orleans :) ]

Wonderful =) The tile texture is maybe too much ;-)

Too much is never enough! ;) I kind of like the way the lines of the tiles break everything up, and the idea of the image being projected on the outside of the building; but more than that I liked the texture of the pattern on the tiles - kind of like the ripple pattern in wet sand... :)

Ha ha! =D I keep that in mind =) I have an idea to implement that phrase. Maybe I'll implement that idea soon...

The Carp and the blossom type flowers give this a Chinese influence. A very effective use of the layers.

wowser! that is so clever dsg and what a huge effort you went to to secure your image for the challenge this week. the effect is really good, especially the baby shark - i love sharks and have free swum around the worlds oceans playing with them! i still have all my bits too :-)

Envy! I got to swim *near* baby sharks once many years ago, but not quite close enough to touch... I'd had the event at the aquarium on my calendar for ages, so I kind of suspected that whatever the challenge was that week I'd probably be going with an aquatic theme... ;)

Well yeah, if the streets are flooded enough for sharks to be swiiming around you probably ought to stay indoors... ;)
