Awww thank you Stiletto! To be honest, I did go to 4 years of university studies in photography... I did PLAN on going pro, but life had other plans for me.. :)

Oh, wow, really?! Gosh... yes, such is life ;-)

So are you taking a more active interest in photography recently or did you maintain it since you finished your studies?

Actually it was a combination of Fl*ckr and digital SLR photography coming to maturity that got me back into photography. Part of the reason I gave it up back then is that my interests have always been more aimed towards fine-arts rather than commercial and what people would buy. And that just SUCKS with film to say the least.. having to pay for every shot and every print.. UGHHHHH

I have to say I learned more about photography in the one year with a digital SLR on my own than I did with university studies with a film camera....... simply because digital encourages experimenting.

Mmm... that is interesting - and most heartening to hear that you feel that way about learning on one's own with a digital camera, because that's what I'm doing!
I had thought F****r would be a great learning tool, but as it transpired, I prefer to spend my time here as what with the Blogs and interaction as I find it is more fun and fruitful for me to pick things up. So thanks for that, it is most encouraging!
