On the north edge of the Coachella Valley, headed out for exploration on a rainy day. The wind turbines in the distance looked better visually, sort of ghostly, than they came out in the photo.

We actually do get rain most winters. This season started out quite dry, but we had one rain in mid-January and then 2 this past week and more is coming this week. As you've probably read, the snow pack in the Sierras is back to average for a change.

I hadn't heard that. It's actually named for a cathedral-like canyon, but they don't reference that, so the name always seems odd.
