Darmstadt Mathildenhöhe (#0193)

Darmstadt Mathildenhöhe (#0193)
The Wedding Tower at Mathildenhöhe. Mathildenhöhe was a large artists' colony created by Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig in 1899 to stimulate arts in Hesse. The artchitecture and exhibits are amazing, and yet somehow I did not know anything about this exhibit when I was stationed in Darmstadt in the late 1960's. This is even close to the center of the city, so would have been easy to reach.
