Berlin St Matthäus Kirchfriedhof (#0078)

Berlin St Matthäus Kirchfriedhof (#0078)
Entering St Matthäus Kirchfriedhof (church cemetery) in the Schöneberg section of Berlin. Though it may look like a typical shaded and calm cemetery, it has a number of surprises, including one that I did not photograph -- a delightful little cafe that is just to my left, inside the cemetery grounds.

Ah, a cafe, always useful. I have a friend who rates national trust properties and gardens in England not on the properties/gardens themselves but on the quality of their tea houses or cafes. She does like her cream teas!

It initially seemed so disrespectful since I'm not at all accustomed to cemeteries having cafes (don't know of any in the U.S. with such). But after strolling around and then relaxing the cafe, it all seemed quite civilized :)
