SF Bay National Wildlife Refuge (0450)
Looking south from Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge in Menlo Park towards Ravenswood Preserve in East Palo Alto. At this point, with Facebook headquarters not far to my right (see picture), we're in the midst of the Silicon Valley where the pressure to build on available land is high. Much of the bay front north of this point is developed, but thankfully, this area has been preserved -- though I was surprised that I was the only one in the preserve for 40 minutes or so that I explored around it. The Wikipedia article on SF Bay has an excellent description of the history of man's impact on the bay: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco_Bay
