CA-167 railroad (0119)

CA-167 railroad (0119)
Site, on the north side of Mono Lake, where a railroad from Mono Mills to Bodie crossed (see adjacent picture). Though not visible here, from the satellite view in the map you can trace relatively roughly the roadbed to the other side of the lake.

I've visited the old station at the Bodie end, but never been here! Interesting that there's still so much preserved.

Ah, the Clampers. We were staying in Bridgeport (CA) one time when their convention was in town. It was ... interesting. But they do do some good work with their memorials.

I like what they do and have debated, they're particularly good about documenting the role of the railroads in the west. I debated joining them, but I'm not good with funny costumes and initiation rituals :)
