CA-1 Piedras Blancas Elephant Seals (1174)

CA-1 Piedras Blancas Elephant Seals (1174)
Mothers that appear to have multiple pups. From what I could find, elephant seals don't have twins and mothers don't adopt (or steal) pups from other mothers, so it isn't clear why there are multiple pups near some mothers.

Thanks to all, it was quite an experience seeing them. One big surprise was the similarity in behaviors of the pups with other animal infants, but I guess getting milk and doing awkward things that look cute are universal infant behaviors.
