Mono Mills monument (0339)

Description of the community of Mono Mills that was built (in 1881) to provide lumber for the gold mines in Bodie. At one point the community had 2 boarding houses and 30 small houses. With changes in technology and demand for gold, the community was abandoned in 1917. None of the buildings of the community remain.
