The church of Saint-Mamert

The church of Saint-Mamert
The Cluniac church of the village of Saint-Mamert in the Beaujolais hills, is a fine example of early Romanesque architecture.

This view from across the valley allows you to admire the apse.

Christina Sonnenschein, Andy Rodker have particularly liked this photo

A wonderful church and shot! Early Romanesque is a favourite style for me (and many others, I know!).

Thanks Andy. It is indeed a very nice village church, my only complaint is about those ugly modern roof tiles that they've been using to redo some of the roofs. You can see them sharply contrasting on the apsidiole.
