Goodwill bins

Goodwill bins
I have a couple of local friends that love to go thrift hunting. We went to the Goodwill bins on Friday. The bins is where everything that doesn't sell in the Goodwill store, for the ridiculous prices they ask now, is sent. Literally, they throw everything into huge containers on wheels and roll in about 8 to 10 in a row and everyone goes crazy searching for that special treasure!! I love it!! I'm not as aggressive as most though. I like to find someone that really digs in and uncovers all the little stuff I look for!! Hahahaha You then purchase by the pound. The more weight you have the cheaper it gets! So it is always good to go with friends to combine the carts.

I found a perfect MH Clawdeen, with shoes, though, I think the shoes are Frankies. I found other dolls too and clothes and fabric!!

Lots of fun stuff can be found but boy, is it easy to get carried away. Just about the time you say "I'm done" they wheel in another bin!! LOL

Looks like you found the right digger to stand near lol.
Some cool stuff in there.
My mom and I use to got to the those when I was in Nebraska. You could get run over if you get in the wrong persons way, lol.
I was in a regular goodwill a while back and a couple of clerks where going through the knick nacks and glass ware and tossing then in a big box, crash, crash!! One would look in now and then drop something on top of something, haha. A shame some good stuff. I assume that stuff was being dumped somewhere not sent to the bins.

It's called the Goodwill Outlet. It's where they take all the stuff that hasn't sold withing a certain period of time. It's the last chance for that item to be discovered by someone that thinks it's a treasure. After that it goes to get all ground up and sold to China or somewhere for fuel. I don't completely understand the process but I do know if they have an outlet store close to you, GO!! It is so much fun!!

I have collected a few barbie dolls now from the second hand shop and am having fun rummaging through the boxes to find perfect little items for them. Got three barbies two of which are 1960's dolls. All very exciting.

That is awesome Marie!! It is rare to find any from the 60's. You'll have to take some photos. I'll have to send you some stuff too. :) ♥
