It's a thing called "rosettirauta" (I haven't figured what it would be in English). You dip it into dough, and then into hot oil.

If you do Google image search with the word rosettirauta, you'll find lots of images. (I'll try to figure out if the thing has an English name)

Found it: "rosette iron" (That should have been obvious). Try Googling rosette iron and you'll find recipes.

Learn somthing new every day. Actualy I thing I have what these make before a nice desert you can put powered sugar on the cooked dough. Christine I'm sure your Domo's or Dolls would be happy to help you make and mainly eat them, lol.
Interesting find.

I am trying to keep it secret from them right now... they already ate everything sweet in the house!! It's okay because I'm trying to drop a few pounds and that helped me a lot. If they know what this thing really is ... oh dear they will never stop asking!!! o-o

I think that "rosette iron" is probably very accurate. I remember seeing someone do this at a county fair with funnel cake batter.
