Eye Town Hall

Eye Town Hall
Eye is a small market town in north Suffolk, just 8km south of the Norfolk border. It is one of the smallest towns in Suffolk, and was once the smallest borough in England. At the centre of Eye is a Victorian town hall built of flint and brick in 1857. The Italianate design by architect Edward Buckton Lamb is not to everyone's taste, and the hall caused a bit of controversy when it was first built. The clock tower was once used for locking up local criminals!

Alexander Cunningham, Lorenzo Kjell Salmonson, fifi, Don Sutherland and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

I love the patterns in the brick - I've never seen anything quite like that. You've got a nice cream house lurking in the background, too, with a lovely porch and steps.
