I'd like to introduce everyone to Snowball. She adopted me when I was a senior in college (1982 - 83) living in an efficiency apartment on campus. She moved home with me after graduation, and continued to live with my parents after I moved out on my own (my landlords had two German Shepards and wouldn't allow me to have my cat).

Snowball was completely deaf! We used to call her in at night by flashing the light. She used to love to scare my Dad by attacking his ankles as he walked down the basement steps, and she used to meet him at the end of the driveway for a short car ride! She loved the car.

She lived a long and happy life.

What a sweet memory to have! It's neat how you could get her to come in by flashing the light! I've never had a deaf cat, though I did have a white cat growing up (named Roscal). Was Snowball your first cat?

When I was growing up, we had cats, but Snowball was the first one that was really MY cat. The next thing I'm going to work on is a collage of the cat that owned me for 20 years, up until she crossed the Rainbow Bridge about 4 1/2 years ago.

Awwwwwww, what a sweet memory. A beautiful girl. Too bad you couldn't have her with you when you lived on your own, but I wouldn't have want her to be lunch for the dogs! Interesting to remember years past. My mother was deathly allergic to cats (her airway constricted), so we didn't have any when I grew up. Oh, except one winter (remember that year when the winter was incredibly mild and Christmas temps were in the upper 60s?) a cat we named Oscar frequented our neighborhood. Oscar was so lovable, but he could never come inside the house. Of course, we had plenty of other critters, just not cats. Snowball was such a smart girl when she adopted you!
