Inspection saloon 'Caroline' at Dingwall

Inspection saloon 'Caroline' at Dingwall
37423 and 975025 'Caroline' at Dingwall station with 2Z02, the 09:06 Motherwell - Inverness via Tain inspection saloon. Built in 1958 at Eastleigh Works as trailer restaurant buffet car (TRB) S60755, for BR Class 203 DEMU No.1036, it was constructed with the narrow body profile for use on the Hastings line, which has restricted clearance tunnels. 'Caroline' has seen service as a Royal saloon, a pope-mobile and a general manager's saloon. Re-numbered as 975025 in 1978, the vehicle was fitted with SR multi-working controls. After a spell in NSE livery, 'Caroline' was converted to blue star push-pull operation and is usually paired with a 37.
In 2008 'Caroline' was "designated for preservation".
