This was shot during a Tibetan ceremony in the courtyard of Hemis Gompa, a monastery in the Himalayanan hills of Ladakh.
This young monk kept on taking pictures with his phone and others were smilling at him, they didn’t seem to be disturbed so I felt comfortable to do the same.
There is no phone connection in such a high place and I was happy not to be
connected to the rest of the world during my stay on the Tibetan Plateau.
However people can still shoot from their phone.
After the ceremony we both shared our pictures, I was remembering the motto used by the Finnish brand of his phone and I thought that they couldn’t have found a better one, indeed Nokia is “connecting people”...
