The Land of Silence 

The “cold desert” is a land of the Great Himalaya made of freezing winds and burning hot sunlight.
Little Tibet, “the moonland” or “the last Shangri La” are all names that have been given to the cold dry and harsh land of Ladhak.
Slight rain and snow reaches this dry area, where nature has created an improbable landscape above 5000 meters high.
