Another mad-scientist experiment

Another mad-scientist experiment
A few weeks ago I got an old-but-lovely 150mm f5.6 Schneider Componon-S on the auction site but was disappointed when its mounting thread was of no size I knew of. Was on the phone with a friend tonight and mentioned it, and he wondered if by strange chance it would fit on a T-mount adapter (made to put cheap preset lenses on cameras in the 1960s and 70s). Having both the lens and a T-mount adapter close at hand, I tried it. It fit.

So I just had to stick it on the focusing extension tube contraption I cobbled together a few weeks ago and see whether it would focus. It was sunset, but I looked out the kitchen door to see if it would focus at any distance. Didn't set up the camera for it or anything, other than stick it on manual. Just then this dinky bird showed up and landed on a coiled hose on the back porch. So I made a picture. This is it.

I call it "Proof of Concept."

And I'll stick the newly mountable lens on the bellows.
