Sunday 8 August 2021 – The ‘Buses Festival’ rally held at the East of England Showground, Peterborough. Preserved former Eastern Counties Omnibus Company LKH133 (HPW 133), an Eastern Coachworks bodied Bristol K new in May 1949. This bus was the winner of the best preserved double decker trophy at the rally. Preserved former Stevensons of Uttoxeter 97 (F97 PRE), an Alexander RL bodied Leyland Olympian new in December 1998. Nottingham City Transport 500 (DD18 GAS), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400CBG bodied Scania N280UD new in March 2019.

Sunday 8 August 2021 – The ‘Buses Festival’ rally held at the East of England Showground, Peterborough. The Todmorden Joint Omnibus Committee was a bus undertaking owned jointly by Todmorden Corporation initially in partnership with the London Midland and Scottish Railway Company (1931-1947). After the nationalisation of railways the partner became British Railways (from 1947). Preserved HWY 36, a Leyland bodied Leyland PD2 /1 was new in January 1950 and was one of the vehicles owned by Todmorden Corporation. Prior to 1947 the total bus fleet saw shared ownership but from 1947 each partner owned their own individual buses to an equal number.

VWA 290L, a Plaxton Supreme bodied AEC Reliance new in April 1973 to Littlewood’s of Sheffield. STM 238W, a Plaxton Supreme bodied Volvo B58 new in January 1981 to Sworders of Walkern, Hertfordshire. Completely re-built in 2017.

STM 238W, a Plaxton Supreme bodied Volvo B58 new in January 1981 to Sworders of Walkern, Hertfordshire. Completely re-built in 2017. VWA 290L, a Plaxton Supreme bodied AEC Reliance new in April 1973 to Littlewood’s of Sheffield. (It had just started to rain and I didn’t realise I had raindrops on my camera lens).

Sunday 8 August 2021 – The ‘Buses Festival’ rally held at the East of England Showground, Peterborough. Through the front windscreen of P306 VWR, a Van Hool Alizée bodied Volvo B10M preserved as Shearings 837 by Paul Webb of Biggleswade. In addition to a model of the coach displayed on the dashboard there is a Shearings travel bag hung by the crew seat. The seat headrest covers (antimacassars) show the Shearings name. The coach was new in May 1997 to Wallace Arnold Tours.

Sunday 8 August 2021 – The ‘Buses Festival’ rally held at the East of England Showground, Peterborough. Preserved former London Transport RMC1476 (476 CLT), an AEC/Park Royal Routemaster new in October 1962. It was one of 68 vehicles for Green Line service work which were of a higher specification than the Routemasters used on normal bus service work. The most obvious to be seen here are the platform doors.
