Jonckheere Mistral bodied Scania FRY 240 was bedecked for the carriage of a wedding party in the market square in Poperinge. De Sint-Bertinuskerk (St Bertinus Church) stands in the background although the wedding was being conducted in the Town Hall behind the camera.

Friday 3 September 2004 - Reizen Suffis is a tour and travel company based in the Belgian town of Poperinge. Jonckheere Mistral bodied Scania FRY 240 was engaged on a hire for a wedding party when seen outside Poperinge town hall. The coach carried a large white bow on the front. Almost everyone has boarded the coach and the bride and groom are about to do so by the front door. Hotel Amfora, where we stay on our visits, can be seen on the extreme right. The patio area (note the umbrellas) is amongst the most relaxing places I can think of to sit and watch the world go by – and the De Lijn buses which from time to time stop outside. In this shot two English coaches were, wrongly in my opinion, occupying the De Lijn bus bay whilst the passengers walked round the town and their drivers had lunch at Amfora. This resulted in the buses having to load on the adjacent roadway. (They also blocked my view from the patio!)

Saturday 23 August 2003 - Reizen Suffis is a tour and travel company based in the Belgian town of Poperinge. Jonckheere Mistral bodied Scania FRY 240 was heading west towards the French border along Frans-Vlaanderenweg, a very pleasant tree lined road between fields and hop vines. The road is built on the trackbed of the former railway that linked Poperinge with Abele which, during the Great War 1914-1918, was the means used to transport troops to the trenches and battle lines – most never to return.

Saturday 26 April 1997 – Even in the pouring rain this view takes away any dampened spirits for me. A view from a bedroom window at the Hotel Amfora in Grote Markt, Poperinge, a bolt hole for me in the busy 1990s! I could happily sit at the window watching everything go by all day – better still I could sit on the front decking with a Hommelbier! In the square is a coach of local operator Suffis Reizen whilst at the bus stop is an Autobus Gruson bus operating the Ieper-Poperinge De Lijn service. My light blue Austin Montego is just behind the tree above the front of the bus. The red sign beyond that is the Cafe du Tram which takes its name from the days when the steam trams left from there.
