Sunday 8 April 2018 (1118) – The Arriva garage at Garston (North Watford) is set to close during 2018 as a result of, amongst other commercial aspects, the loss of the Transport for London contracts to operate services 142 and 258. The property had its origins as a London Transport Country Area garage and opened in 1952. The front of the building on the right, which houses the administration and staff facilities building, faces to St. Albans Road.

To mark the closure the Amersham & District Motorbus Society organised a Running Day which replicated former LT services in the Watford area operated by preserved vehicles and Arriva allowed these buses to pass through the garage to enable riders to view the scene from within the buses.

In this view are VLA178 (LJ55 BVL) (an Alexander ALX400 bodied Volvo B7TL new in December 2005), DW142 (YJ55 WOR) (a Wright Pulsar Gemini bodied VDL DE20 new in February 2006); ENL106 (LX11 LWJ) (an Alexander Dennis Enviro200 that had been new to Stagecoach East London (36273) in June 2011).
