Bradford City Transport 115 (PKY 115) – 23 Mar 1974

March 1974 – Bradford City Transport 115 (PKY 115), a Metro-Cammell Weymann bodied AEC Regent V new in June 1959, seen parked at the end of Rathmell Street outside Bankfoot garage.

On 1 April 1974 the West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (WYPTE) came into being absorbing Bradford City Transport, Leeds City Transport, the Calderdale Joint Omnibus Committee and the Huddersfield Joint Omnibus Committee.

My embarrassing tale regarding this bus. For a long time I had the misplaced belief that it was the bus that had been loaned to Rochdale Corporation Transport around May 1961 on which I rode just once. On a number of visits to Bradford in later years I kept a look out for 115 and my patience was rewarded on this day when I managed to get a photograph of it. However, I later discovered that the bus that visited Rochdale was actually 125 (UKY 125)!
